Former Malaysian Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who was removed from office after he criticised the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak about his handling of the controversial investment company 1-Malaysia Development BErhad (1MDB) giving a Press Conference the day after. The Prime minister is deeply embroiled in the controversy by virtue of being the Chairman of the board of directors of 1MDB and the controversy surrounding the RM42 billion of debts raised by the company. The debt is guaranteed by the Malaysian Government. The Asian Wall Street Journal carried a story implicating Najib in a USD700 million transfer into his personal accounts. The Prime Minister also removed the Attorney General, Tan Sri Abdul Ghani Patail and appointed a new head of the Royal Malaysian Police's Special Branch.
